The fork lock is worked several times before anyone leaves, because a key that starts the bike but binds in the fork lock is only half a key.

At the bike: the ownership check, the cut, the programming where it is needed, and a test of the ignition, the seat, the fuel cap and the fork lock. Card or tap at the kickstand, receipt by email. Roadside work on the mountain is booked in daylight wherever possible, since the pullouts are narrow and the shoulder is not.

Motorcycle Keys: quick answers
A Harley with no key at all.+
Workable. Most Harley ignitions and fork locks can be read at the bike and a key cut to code from what they give up. Models with a fob-based security system need the fob paired or the PIN entered, and that is done with you standing next to the bike rather than at a counter across the county.
The Ducati red key is long gone.+
The red master key makes programming faster; it is not the only route in. The immobilizer can usually be read directly and a new key coded to it. If the module itself has to be reset, that cost is named before the work begins rather than discovered somewhere in the middle of it.
Scooter, e-bike, or the top box lock?+
Gas scooters are figured like small motorcycles and are straightforward. Top box and storage locks are usually inexpensive wafer cylinders that can be read or swapped. E-bike battery locks are frequently proprietary and cannot be cut at all; describe the lock when you call and you get a straight answer before anyone drives out.
